Diameter. 28 mm bars (25 mm on 15 kg bars) are made for the Olympic lifts. 29 mm power bars are stiffer and add a center knurl for squats.
Sleeve rotation. Composite bushings give smooth, quiet rotation in American Barbell's multi-lift bars. Its precision needle bearings are used in the bars built for Olympic weightlifting.
Shaft finish. Hard chrome and Cerakote are coatings. A stainless steel shaft is uncoated and resists corrosion.
Tensile strength. American Barbell's USA-made Olympic bars list 180,000–190,000 PSI. Its imported training bars list 160,000 PSI.
